Biography
Richard P. Brenner, MD, was born in New York City, NY. After receiving a bachelor of arts degree from Brooklyn College, he was awarded his medical degree from the University of Louisville in 1968. He completed a medical internship at Los Angeles County - University of Southern California Medical Center, and then his first year neurology residency at Stanford University. Following this, he served as a medical officer for two years in the United States Navy. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Miami and then received fellowship training in electroencephalography at the Mayo Clinic. He joined the faculty at the University of New Mexico in 1975. Since 1983, Dr. Brenner has been on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, where he is now clinical professor of neurology and psychiatry.
