Dr. Lu’s primary interest is the diagnosis and management of both neuromuscular diseases and epilepsy.
Dr. Lu serves as a general neurologist providing out patient clinical care. She joined the Division of General Neurology in August 2008 as Clinical Assistant Professor after completing subspecialty training in clinical neurophysiology.
Dr. Lu completed her fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2008. She utilizes this expertise in the diagnosis and management of both neuromuscular diseases and epilepsy. Dr. Lu performs EMG studies at Mercy with frequent referrals from her colleagues in neurosurgery. She interprets EEG studies at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, providing overnight call coverage once a week for emergency and continuous studies. In addition, she participates in teaching neurology and neurosurgery residents during EEG reading days, providing guidance on management based upon the EEG or instructing them on basic EEG reading during elective rotations.
Dr. Lu graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2003. She was a general internal medicine resident for one year at UPMC followed by a Neurology residency at UPMC (2003-2008) where she was Co-Chief Resident her fourth year.
